What word describes karmic punishment of a sin committed? Divine punishment. "Retribution" is close but is not "biblical enough". "Penance" is close to what I'm looking for, but the punishment needs to be divine and from an external force.

I want to use it like: "I did nothing to deserve this divine retribution". I know there is a specific word for this! He wills that sin be punished, and He wills to be the victim who bears its punishment. Peter writes, “And He Himself bore our sins.” He Himself is emphatic.
